- Technical Assistance:
A Subsidy Health and Safety Inspection was conducted on Thursday, April 11, 2019 to review supplemental health and safety requirements. The inspector was on site from approximately 10:20am to 12:00pm. During this inspection, there were 7 children in care totaling 24 points being cared for by two caregivers. The children were observed by the licensing inspector in their designated areas in the home, interacting with peers, playing with age appropriate toys, and watching television. Later, the children were observed taking bathroom breaks, washing hands, and preparing for lunch. The areas of childcare, kitchen, and the indoor play area were inspected. The required postings were reviewed and found to be in compliance. The first aid kit and emergency supplies, daily attendance, and fire and shelter-in-place drills were reviewed. Transportation is provided and one vehicle was inspected today. During the inspection, five children's records, the provider's records, one assistant's records, and one household member's records were reviewed. Last documented evacuation drill: 03/27/2019 Last documented shelter-in-place drill: 02/28/2019 Last documented lockdown drill: 03/27/2019 A licensing inspection was also conducted this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Standard #: 22VAC40-665-400-B-7 Description: Based on the review of the emergency preparedness plan on 04/11/2019, the required procedures were not listed. Evidence: 1) During the inspection of the family day home's emergency preparedness plan, it was discovered the continuity of operations procedures were not listed. Plan of Correction: The provider will update the required information to the emergency plan.
