Comments:
The licensing inspector conducted an unannounced monitoring inspection Friday, April 26, 2019 from approximately 12:40 PM until 1:50 PM to check if violations from a previous inspection were corrected and monitor compliance with Family Day Home standards. There were 12 non-resident children present during the inspection. Two caregivers were supervising the children for a total of 26 points. Children were observed resting at nap time, waking up, using the bathroom and washing their hands. During the inspection, one child?s record was reviewed. The two caregivers? records were reviewed during the February 2019 inspection and no changes have been made. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-280
Description: Based on observation and interview, provider did not ensure potentially poisonous substances were not accessible to children. Evidence: During the inspection of the children's bathroom, the cabinet underneath the sink contained various cleaning products. The cabinet where the products were located was not locked and the products were accessible to children. The provider stated the child safety lock on the cabinet had broken.

Plan of Correction: The provider added a child safety lock to the cabinet while the inspector was on site.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-510-C
Description: Based on observation, the provider did not ensure there were at least 12 inches of space between occupied mats. Evidence: During the inspection, the licensing inspector observed five occupied mats touching each other, leaving less than 12 inches of space between the occupied mats.

Plan of Correction: The occupied mats were moved during the inspection, providing adequate spacing.
