Technical Assistance:
A discussion was held regarding making sure the assistants can communicate in case of an emergency.

Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today from 9:30am-11:00am. There were 7 children (17 points) supervised by 3 direct caregivers. The home, staff records, children?s records, household member?s records, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. There were no medications on site today. Children were observed singing, coloring, playing with play dough, engaging freely and eating snack. There was an abundance of books, toys, and materials, which were found to be developmentally appropriate for the children in care at the time of inspection. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Thank you for your cooperation during this inspection. Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-870-G
Description: Based on observation, tables were not cleaned after each use. Evidence: After the children were finished eating snack the table was wiped down with running water, wiped dry and sprayed with a solution bleach and water and allow to air dry.

Plan of Correction: We will make sure to clean the table before and after each use.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-890
Description: Based on observation not all food brought from home, is labeled with child's name and date. Evidence: Children's food in the refrigerator that was brought from home was not labeled with a child's name or date.

Plan of Correction: I will make sure to put the name and date on anything brought from home.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-900-B
Description: Based on observation, children were allowed to eat while walking around. Evidence: A child was walking around holding a bowl of fruit and eating it.

Plan of Correction: I will make sure the children remain seated while eating.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-100-A
Description: Based on review of 7 children's records, 1 did not have documentation of a physical within 30 days after the first day of attendance. Evidence: Child #1, does not have documentation of a physical on file.

Plan of Correction: I will get a physical from the parent and in the future I will make sure to have the physical within 30 days of their start date.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-90-A
Description: Based on review of 7 children's records, 1 does not have documentation of the child's immunization record. Evidence: Child #1 does not have a record of current immunizations before the child attend the family day home.

Plan of Correction: I will get a copy from the parent and in the future I will not let children start before having the immunization record.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-680-B
Description: Based on observation, children's hand's were not washed before eating. Evidence: Children sat at table to eat snack without washing their hands.

Plan of Correction: We will make sure all hands are washed.
