Comments:
Thank you for your time and assistance with the unannounced renewal inspection conducted today, May 7, 2019. The on-site inspection was held from 12:15 p.m. to 3:40 p.m. On this date, there were eight children in the care of the provider and an assistant (21 points). There were a total of 13 children enrolled in the program. The records for five children were reviewed, and the records for the provider, one assistant and one household member were reviewed for updates. The provider, the assistant and three children were interviewed. There were no medications being administered at the time of the visit, as is the policy of the provider. The violations from the previous inspection had been corrected, and there were no violations of the licensing standards on this date. Afternoon snack was observed to meet USDA guidelines and consisted of apple slices, peanut butter and water. The children enjoyed going on a walk this morning where they met with a police officer and learned all about his police car and his job. Some items reviewed during the visit included: free play, transitions, bathroom and hand washing procedures, nap time, puzzles, nursery rhymes, afternoon snack, circle time, diaper changing procedures, dismissal procedures, documentation of evacuation and shelter-in-place drills, required posted information, weekly menu, warm water temperature, refrigerator and freezer temperatures, emergency supplies, first aid kit. Please contact your licensing inspector, Diann Reed, if you have questions concerning this inspection, the licensing standards, and/or if I may be of assistance to you (540) 280-0742.
