Comments:
An unannounced, mandated renewal inspection was conducted today. The inspector arrived at 9:30 AM and departed at 11:00 AM. Eight children. totaling twenty-one points were in care. Two caregiver records and a sample size of five children's records were reviewed. Morning activities and outdoor play were observed. It was reported that no medication is administered to children in care and no children's injuries were reported. An exit meeting was conducted with the provider prior to closure of the inspection.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-210-A
Description: Based upon review of records and provider interview, the provider has not ensured that caregivers obtain a minimum of sixteen clock hours of training each year. Evidence: 1. The records for caregivers 1 and 2 include documentation of 12.75 hours of annual training 2. The provider verified that documentation of additional training was not available.

Plan of Correction: The provider responded with the following: At least sixteen hours of training will be obtained and documented annually.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-570-A
Description: Based upon observation, review of records and provider interview, the provider has not ensured that a caregiver does not exceed caring for children totaling more than 16 points. Evidence: 1. When the inspector arrived at 9:30 AM, the provider was just pulling into her driveway. Caregiver 2 was in the back yard with seven children, totaling nineteen points. 2. The provider verified that two children arrived while she was running an errand.

Plan of Correction: The provider responded with the following: Provider went to pick up paper plates for the children's lunches. Provider will ensure that errands are not run unless points will remain in compliance.
