Had a discussion with the provider about a bathroom renovation that will be taking place in the near future. The bathroom is not used by the children, however the workers will be in and out of the house during the family day home's operating hours. The provider was encouraged to be conscientious of the workers tools that could potentially be left accessible to the children.
- Comments:

Today an unannounced Monitoring inspection took place between 11:15am and 1:00pm. There were 8 children present with the provider and 1 assistant for a total of 17 points within the supervision guidelines. At the start of the inspection, the caregivers and children were returning to the family day home from a field trip at a local playground. Upon return, the children were observed washing hands, sitting down to be read to while the provider prepared lunch, eating (taco boats, salad, tomatoes and tangerines) and preparing for nap time. Excellent table manners and positive interactions were observed. The provider is not currently trained to administer medication, and no medication is on site. A complete inspection of the physical plant, children and staff records, fire drill log, menu, attendance and emergency procedures were observed during this inspection.
