Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted between 8:30am and 10:00am. At the time of the tour there were 2 children in care with 1 caregiver present. Children were observed watching television and playing with toys. The infant was observed being held, fed and in the swing. No children present with a diagnosed food allergy. One caregiver, 2 children and 1 household pet record was reviewed.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-600-A
Description: Based on observation and interview, the licensee did not ensure infants were provided with all required opportunities to reach, grasp, pull up, creep, or crawl to develop motor skills. Evidence: There was a 4month-old baby observed being fed by the licensee and in a swing, the duration of the inspection. The licensee stated child #1 is never placed on the floor and only stays in the swing or is held.

Plan of Correction: The following corrective action was provided by the licensee during the exit interview: Child #1 has reflux and has to sleep upright. Due to a GI issue the child is never placed on her stomach. A doctor's not is being obtained. An area will be made so that infants can receive time on the floor.
