Technical Assistance:
Licensing inspector discussed annual file reviews, medication requirements, emergency number requirements, fingerprinting filing requirements and child abuse and neglect training.

Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from approximately 7:20am-8:40am. There was 1 child (2 points) in the direct care and supervision of 2 caregivers. A sample of 1 child?s record and 2 caregiver's records were reviewed. The child was observed eating breakfast and playing with toys. The normal assistant was on vacation at the time of inspection, another assistant was present. Zero new caregivers have been hired since the last inspection. Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-700-C
Description: Based on observation, medication was not given to parents or discarded after 14 days of expiration. Evidence: The medication for Child B expired 10/2018 and was not discarded.

Plan of Correction: Corrected during inspection. Given back to parent.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-760-A-1
Description: Based on observation, the first aid kit was missing required contents. Evidence: The first aid kit was missing the following contents: 1. Ice Pack; 2. 1 of 2 required triangle bandages.

Plan of Correction: I will order them from Amazon.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-210-A
Description: Based on record review, a caregiver did not obtain a minimum of 16 hours of training annually. Evidence: Caregiver A completed 11 hours of training for 2018.

Plan of Correction: She will compete 16 hours for 2019.
