An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today. There are 5 children (8 points) present with one caregiver. Two children's records were reviewed. Both were complete. 2 adult records were reviewed, Both were complete. Children were observed practicing letters and numbers, eating snack and playing with toys. Emergency escape drills. first aid supplies, emergency supplies and bathroom supplies are all in compliance. The Allowable Variance you applied for was approved on March 09, 2019. Another copy of the document will be sent to you to be posted at the entrance to the day care.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-940-A Description: Based on direct observation, the freezer temperature was not maintained at 0 degrees. Evidence: The temperature was registering at 10 degrees on the freezer thermometer. Plan of Correction: The temperature dial was lowered during the inspection.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-680-B Description: Based on statements, the caregiver did not ensure the children's hands were washed prior to eating. Evidence: Children's hands were not washed prior to eating snack. Plan of Correction: I will remind the children to wash their hands.
