54.1-3408 Provider must be MAT certified to administer prescription medication.

**Discussed ensuring parents sign all forms and that the Medication Administration forms in children's files have only one box checked to eliminate confusion.
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 10:00am-11:15am. There were 4 children including the provider's child (8 points) directly supervised by the provider. The home, staff records, 3 children?s records, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. There were no medications for children on site today. Children were observed playing freely and waking from nap. There was a variety of age appropriate toys, books and materials for the children in care. The home was clean and organized. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-730-D Description: Based on observation, medications were not kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children. Evidence: The unlocked medicine cabinet was observed to contain 4 bottles of cough syrup and 3 bottles of pills. Plan of Correction: I will find a way to lock the medication.
