An unannounced focused inspection was completed on June 27, 2019 from approximately 10:30a.m. to 11:45a.m. to review compliance with specific standards. Ten children were in care, ages infant to four years old, with two caregivers, for a total of twenty-eight points. The caregivers and children were observed interacting and engaging in activities to include diapering, activities for infants and a group craft. Interviews and interactions were conducted and no medications are given. Three caregiver records and two household member's records, one of which is also a caregiver, were reviewed. There have been no new caregivers hired since the last inspection. The provider was available for interview, inspection and exit interview at which time inspection findings were reviewed. Standard #: 22VAC40-191-40-D-5-a Description: Based on a review of household records and interview, the licensee failed to obtain a child protective services central registry check within 30 days of a14-year-old person in the home becoming 14 years old for one of two household members. Evidence: 1. In an interview with Caregiver #1, she advised that HHM #1 turned fourteen years old in February 2019 and that no child protective services central registry check has been completed. Plan of Correction: The provider will send documentation to the LI that the background checks have been requested no later than10 business days following this notification dated 6/27/2019.
