Discussion was held on the topics of current enrollment, current staffing, and topical skin products. Provider inquired about the possible future use of prescription diaper cream. The Provider was reminded that any prescription medication would require that that staff person to have a Medication Administration Training (MAT) certification. However, the Provider may administer diaper cream, oral gel, bug spray, sun screen; topical skin products with only a written authorization from the child's parent.

The following inspection took place between the hours of 9:30 am through 11:30 am. Today, I met with the Provider on site at the Family Day Home (FDH) located in Alexandria, Virginia. At the start of this unannounced renewal inspection there were a total of 4 children, plus 2 resident children (13 points) with 1 caregiver. A total of 5 children?s files, 1 staff file, and 4 household member?s files were reviewed. The children were engaged in the following: toy play, infant feeding, diapering, bathroom break, hand washing, learning, story time, imaginative play, getting ready to go outside for some water play, and other organized activities.
