A Subsidy Health and Safety Inspection was conducted on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 from approximately 9:55am to 12:00pm to review supplemental health and safety requirements. During the inspection, there were 10 children in care totaling 27 points in the care of two caregivers. Upon arrival, the children were observed eating a morning snack. Later, the licensing inspector observed the children engaged in play with their peers and interacting with the caregivers. The infant group was observed in their respective area of the home interacting with the caregiver. One infant was observed napping. The older preschool children were observed in the main room of the family day home during free-play, coloring, singing songs and later as they prepared for lunch and nap time. The licensing inspector interacted with the children when appropriate throughout the inspection. The caregivers were observed having positive interactions with the children in care. The areas for childcare, bathroom, kitchen, and indoor play area were inspected. The required postings were reviewed and found to be in compliance. The first aid kit and non-emergency supplies, daily attendance, and fire and shelter-in-place drills were inspected. Transportation is not provided at this time. During this inspection, five children?s records, three medications, two caregivers? records, and one household member?s records were reviewed. The most recent evacuation drill was documented on 07/10/2019, the most recent shelter-in-place drill was documented on 03/25/2019, and the most recent lockdown drill was documented on 05/23/2019. A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. There were no violations found during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection.
