Comments:
An unannounced monitoring visit and home tour was conducted from 2:40pm-3:45pm. At the time of inspectors' arrival there were 7 children in care ranging from 1 month-5 years of age, totaling 24 points in care with the provider and assistant provider. Children were observed participating in free play, and interacting with the provider and assistant provider through out the duration of the inspection. A sample of 5 children's and the provider's and assistant's records were reviewed. No medications are administered by the provider. There have been no injuries since the last inspection. Areas of noncompliance are detailed in the Violation Notice and were discussed with the provider at the conclusion of this inspection.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-240-A
Description: Based on observation it was determined the provider did not ensure that all areas and furnishings of the family day home, inside and outside, were maintained in a safe, and operable condition. Evidence: There was a 1x6" area of broken plaster/peeling drywall on the lower portion of the wall in the main room used for child care.

Plan of Correction: Provider will contact someone to repair this area today and prevent children from having access to this area until it is repaired.
