Comments:
An announced initial inspection was conducted today, August 6, 2019 from 11:10am-12:30pm. No children were in care during today's inspection. The home including the personal residence, the indoor child care area and the outdoor play area were inspected. Background checks were reviewed for the provider and all adult household members. The provider's record was also reviewed for references, required training and health information. Cribs, animal records, emergency supplies and procedures were also inspected during today's inspection. There was an assortment of age appropriate materials for children. The home was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-730-D
Description: Based on observation, medications were not kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children. Evidence: 1. A bottle of Aspirin was observed in an unlocked medicine cabinet in the downstairs bathroom. 2. Two containers of medication in pill form were observed in the provide's first aid kit.

Plan of Correction: The medications were locked during the inspection.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-320-G
Description: Based on record review, wood burning fireplaces and associated chimneys were not inspected annually by a knowledgeable inspector to verify that the devices are properly installed, maintained, and cleaned as needed. Evidence: The most recent documented fireplace and chimney inspection is was conducted November 2016.

Plan of Correction: I will call to schedule an inspection.
