Technical Assistance:
Licensing inspector discussed power strip protectors, water temperature, infant walkers, documents to be posted, emergency drill procedures, children's record requirements, household member record requirements, and caregiver record requirements with the provider.

Comments:
An announced initial inspection was conducted today from approximately 8:30am-10:30am. There were 2 of the providers own children (6 points) in the direct care and supervision of 1 caregiver. A sample of 1 child's record, 1 caregiver's record and 1 household member's record were reviewed. The children were observed napping, watching television and eating. This provider is currently a subsidy provider ad plans to offer care to children on the weekends. Areas of non-compliance are identified in this report. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-760-A-1
Description: Based on observation, the first aid kit was missing required contents. Evidence: The first aid kit was missing the following required contents: 1. 2 of 2 required triangular bandages; 2. An ice pack; 3. First aid instruction manual.

Plan of Correction: I will buy the things that I need.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-920
Description: Based on interview and observation, the provider did not have a menu of the current week posted. Evidence: 1. There was no menu posted. 2. Caregiver A stated she a part of the food program and menu was on the computer.

Plan of Correction: Corrected during inspection.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-940-B
Description: Based on observation, the provider did not have an operable thermometer available to monitor the freezer compartment temperature. Evidence: 1. There was no thermometer available to monitor the freezer compartment. 2. Caregiver A stated there was a thermometer in the refrigerator compartment but not one in the freezer compartment.

Plan of Correction: I will order one online and it should be here in a week.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-120-B
Description: Based on record review, the provider did not maintain a complete record for each caregiver. Evidence: The file of Caregiver A was missing the required information: 1. Job title; 2. Employment date; 3. Address; 4. Age verification; 5. Qualifications.
