Today an unannounced Renewal inspection took place between 9:10am and 11:20am. There were 11 children present with the provider and 1 assistant for a total of 28 points within the supervision guidelines. The children were observed playing freely with toys, lego blocks and looking at books. A complete inspection of the physical plant, children and staff records, fire drill log, menu, attendance and emergency procedures were observed during this inspection. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-680-A Description: Based on observation, caregivers did not wash their hands with soap and water after each diaper change. Evidence: Four children were observed having their diapers changed. Caregiver #1 did not wash their hands after each diaper change. They washed their hands when they were finished changing all four children. Plan of Correction: I will make sure I do that.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-680-B Description: Based on observation, caregivers did not ensure that children's hands are washed with soap and water after diaper changes. Evidence: Four children were observed having their diapers changed. Four out of four children did not have their hands washed after their diaper changes. Plan of Correction: I will make sure I do that.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-690-D Description: Based on observation, the diapering surface was not cleaned and sanitized after each use. Evidence: Four child were observed having their diapers changed. The provider was observed wiping the changing mat with baby wipe after each diaper change. The surface was never sanitized. Plan of Correction: I will make sure I do that.
