63.2 Child abuse and neglect
An unannounced inspection was conducted regarding a complaint received by the licensing office regarding behavior guidance. An interview with the provider was conducted regarding the allegation. During the inspection, there were 5 children napping. The information gathered from this investigation is inconclusive and the complaint is determined to be not valid. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-320-B Complaint related: No Description: Based on observation, not all outlets accessible to children had protective covers.
An outlet on the side of the kitchen island did not have a proctective cover making, it accessible to children,
Plan of Correction: I will make sure all outlets are covered.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-530-A Complaint related: No Description: Based on observation, during naptime, children did not have their own rest mat or cot and did not have a bottom cover.
Three children were napping on the same rest mat. The children napping only had a top cover, there was no bottom sheet on the rest mats/cots.
Plan of Correction: I have cots, I will make sure each child naps on their own cot. I will put a bottom sheet on each cot before the children nap.
