Comments:
An Unannounced Renewal Inspection was conducted today. There was 1 child (2 points) directly supervised by 1 caregiver. The home, caregiver records, 5 children's records, 2 household member's records, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. There were no medications on site today. Child was observed in the play room. There was an abundant supply of books, toys, and materials for the children. The home was clean and organized. Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-760-A-1
Description: Based on observation, the provider failed to ensure that they had all of the required minimum items in the first aid kit. Evidence: Observed that there was no first aid manual within the first aid kit.

Plan of Correction: I will get a first aid manual.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-830-A
Description: Based on review, the provider failed to ensure that emergency evacuation procedures are practiced monthly with all caregivers and children in care during all shifts. Evidence: Reviewed the emergency evacuation procedure log and found that there was no documentation of evacuation drills being conducted in May, June or July.

Plan of Correction: I will conduct monthly evacuation drills.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-60-B
Description: Based on review, the provider failed to ensure that children's records were maintained with the required information. Evidence: Reviewed 5 children's records and found that Child 1, 3 and 5 did not have documentation of the parent's annual review and update of children's records.

Plan of Correction: I will have them signed today at pick-up
