An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted September 19 2019 between 9:15am and 10:30am. There were 7 children observed in the direct care of 2 staff members. Children were observed working on a feelings face art project, name painting, circle time, and various stations including building, magnets, and cars. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-700-A Description: Based on direct observation, the provider did not secure written authorization to administer an emergency medication.
Evidence: Child #1 has an auto-injector medication, but there is no long term medication documentation completed by the doctor and the parent.Plan of Correction: Parents are picking it up today and bringing it tomorrow.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-700-B Description: Based on direct observation, the provider does not have documentation of the parent's written authorization to administer emergency medication.
Evidence: The parent's written authorization for Child #2 expired and was not renewed after 10 working days.Plan of Correction: I will get the parents to renew the form.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-60-B Description: Based on record review, 2 of 4 children's records reviewed did not contain all of the required information.
Evidence; Child #1 and child #2 records do not contain documentation of two emergency contacts including addresses and telephone numbers.Plan of Correction: I will have the parents give me the information.
