Technical Assistance:
Technical assistance today included indoor and outdoor physical environment, accessibility to materials, and training opportunities.

Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 11:30 am - 2 pm. There were three children present with the provider and assistant for 9 points. I observed quiet play with Legos and naptime. Record keeping was well-organized. If you have any questions, please contact me at brenda.kuhlman@dss.virginia.gov

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-760-B
Description: Based on observation during today's inspection, the first aid kit was not located in an area easily accessible to the child care area.
Evidence:
The first aid kits were observed on the main level of the home but the children were observed on the lower level of the home.

Plan of Correction: I will put it downstairs today.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-240-A
Description: Based on observation during today's inspection, there were some outdoor areas in need of repair.
Evidence:
The wooden fencing next to the wall in the outdoor play area was observed to not be attached to the wall, leaving the fencing loose on one side. There was also an area inside the fencing where some wood was splintering.

Plan of Correction: I will call the person that installed the fence to fix the sharp areas and secure the fence.
