Comments:
An unannounced two-month inspection took place this afternoon. There were two children present for 6 points. I observed the end of naptime, playing with toys, going outdoors, and coming in for snack. There was a wide variety of age appropriate materials available and accessible. The playground area has been renovated so it is in a shady area with mulch.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-240-A
Description: Based on observation during today's inspection, there were some outdoor areas that were not maintained in a safe condition.
Evidence:
Much work has been done to bring the backyard into compliance, but a few areas are now visible.
1. There was no barrier from the play area to the concrete stairway.
2 Spaces were observed the aluminum fence of approximately 6 inches between the fence and the gate; and the fence and the brick wall, posing an entrapment hazard.
3 There were splintering areas on the shed and a small table stored behind the shed, making the fenced creek accessible.

Plan of Correction: We will make the areas inaccessible, and remove the table from behind the shed.
