Discussed the requirement of immunizations must be obtained every six months for children under the age of 2 years.
An unannounced Monitoring inspection was conducted this date. A total of 6 children (19pts
with Provider and 1 Assistant was on site today. When the Inspector arrived, some children were in high chairs having an early lunch. The older children were at the table reading books and engaging with one another. Walk thru of the home was conducted. Cribs, play equipment, bathroom and food preparation area were observed. The children had just transitioned inside from outside play. After lunch, the children were in circle time, participating "head, shoulders, knees and toes" with staff and singing songs. Diapering procedures observed along with sanitizing of table and high chairs was completed. Lunch today was beef, rice and spinach with milk to drink. The children transitioned to nap time where staff were observed encouraging quiet time. A total of 5 children's records, 1 household record were reviewed. No new staff since the April inspection. All background checks and certifications remain current. Artwork on the parent's sign out table that was completed this week such as stamp art Indian corn, fall trees made out of construction for the season. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-960-C Description: Based on observation of morning snack and lunch time, safety straps were not fastened according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Evidence: When the Inspector arrived, 3 children were observed in high chairs for early lunch. Safety straps were not fastened for all 3 of the children. Safety straps were not fastened for 2 children during a later lunch time.
Plan of Correction: I have spoken to staff today and safety straps will be fastened every time a child is in a high chair.
