Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today. The provider was caring for 4 children, totaling 13 points. Children's records, caregiver training, the physical plant, interactions, and emergency preparedness items were inspected today. The provider reported that no children's medications were on site today.

This inspection took place in the middle of the day. All children were observed sleeping and listening to quiet music.
The children had been served pasta with meatballs and tomato sauce, corn, apple slices, and milk for lunch today.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-830-C
Description: Based on a review of emergency preparedness items, it was determined that the provider has not maintained a record of each emergency evacuation drill.
Evidence:
The provider did not document the fire evacuation drill practiced in August, 2019.

Plan of Correction: I will remember to document every drill.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-510-C
Description: Based on observations, it was determined that occupied cribs were not placed at least 12 inches apart.
Evidence:
The Inspector observed two occupied cribs placed side by side, without at least 12 inches of space in between the cribs.

Plan of Correction: The cribs will be moved to have enough space in between them.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-530-F
Description: Based on observations, it was determined that one infant under the age of 12 months was allowed to have soft bedding in his crib while napping.
Evidence:
The Inspector observed one 8 month old infant sleeping in a crib with a blanket.

Plan of Correction: I will not allow him to use the full blanket.
