An announced monitoring inspection took place today from 10:45 - 12 pm. There were three children in care for 8 points with the provider. I observed children painting pastel colored "spiders, pasting on legs; stacking blocks and listening to seasonal stories. Children practiced identifying objects, letters, colors and discussing holidays while the provider read stories.There was also discussion of Halloween costumes. Record keeping was well-organized. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-180-A Description: Based on a review of records today, not all tuberculosis screenings were current.
Evidence:
There were no updates on TB screenings every two years for the provider and Household Member # 4.Plan of Correction: We will get a letter from the doctor saying we do not have symptoms every 2 years..
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-240-A Description: Based on observation during today's inspection, there were some areas outdoors tat were not maintained in a safe/operable condition.
Evidence:
A toy riding truck had only two posts for the top awning, leaving the top unsteady. There were some areas of splintering in the deck, and the drainage pipe on the side of the brick wall was detached today.Plan of Correction: We will get these things fixed.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-280 Description: Based on observation during today's inspection,,there were some hazardous materials accessible.
Evidence: The latch under the sink was not brokin leaving items accessible in the cabinet (plumbing products, spray) Outdoors, the shed lock had the key in it.Plan of Correction: The lock will be replaced. Until then, these things will be put somewhere else. The key will be put away.
Standard #: 22VAC40-191-40-D-1-c Description: Based on a review of records today, one result from a Search of the Child Registry Check was not complete.
Evidence:
The registry sent a note that asked for clarification of name, but this does not meet the requirement for a result. It was dated 3/19.Plan of Correction: I will call them and ask to check on it. I will mail you a copy when it comes.
