Comments:
A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on 10/29/2019 from 12:40 p.m to 2:00 p.m. to review supplemental health and safety requirements.
There were 4 children present, including one household child, for a total of 17 points, in care with the vendor. The records sample size consisted of 4 vendor / household member records and 3 children?s records. Children were observed cleaning up from play and transitioning to mats for rest period. The vendor states that no medication is administered to children in care at this time. Children are sometimes transported in a vehicle and the requirements regarding transportation a outings were reviewed. Children play outdoors at a nearby public park with direct supervision and close proximity of the vendor. The vendor reports that there have been no accidents or injuries requiring first aid or medical treatment incurred by children in care since the last inspection. There are no children currently enrolled who have diagnosed food allergies.
A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Areas of non-compliance are identified on the violation notice. Description: Based on a review of the written emergency plan and interview, the vendor has not completed a written emergency preparation plan which includes lockdown procedures.
Evidence:
The written emergency preparedness plan did not contain procedures for locking down during an emergency requiring these actions.

Plan of Correction: The vendor stated that she would utilize the template available on VDSS website to address the areas missing in her current written plan.

Description: Based on a review of the written emergency plan and interview, the vendor has not completed a written emergency preparation plan which includes procedures for the continuity of operations during an emergency
Evidence:
The written emergency preparedness plan did not contain procedures for ensuring that all vital functions are maintained during an emergency. When asked, the vendor stated that she had not formally articulated the required procedures for continuity of operations.

Plan of Correction: The vendor stated that she would utilize the template available on VDSS website to address the areas missing in her current written plan.
