Comments:
An Unannounced Renewal Inspection was conducted today from 9:30am to 10:30am. There were 8 children (15 points) directly supervised by 1 staff. The home, 1 caregiver's records records, 3 child's records, 2 household member's records, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. There were no medications on site today. Children were observed playing freely outside and inside the play room, watching a movie, participating in a group art activity. There was an abundant supply of books, toys, and materials for the children. The home was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in this report. Description: Based on review, the provider did not ensure that the emergency preparedness plan is reviewed and updated as needed at least annually.
Evidence: Reviewed the emergency preparedness plan and found that it had not been reviewed or updated within the last 12 months.

Plan of Correction: Corrected at the time of the visit.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-830-B
Description: Based on review, the provider did not ensure that shelter-in-place procedures are practiced a minimum of twice per year.
Evidence: Reviewed the shelter-in-place drill log and found that there was only one conducted within the past 12 months.

Plan of Correction: Will practice a shelter-in-place drill in November.

Description: Based on review, the provider did not ensure that there was a written record of children in attendance each day.
Evidence: Reviewed the attendance log and found that there was only documentation of 4 out of the 8 children in care at the time of the visit.

Description: Based on observation, the provider did not ensure that potentially poisonous substances, materials and supplies are inaccessible to children.
Evidence: Observed in the main bathroom, a cabinet with a faulty lock, allowing children access to the cleaning and household agents under the sink.

Plan of Correction: Will fix the lock.

Description: Based on observation, the provider did not ensure that electrical outlets have protective covers.
Evidence: Observed 2 uncovered outlets in the main play room and 2 uncovered outlets by the television in the nap room.
