Comments:
A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on 10/31/19 to review supplemental health and safety requirements. There were 6 children present, with a total of 16 points, with 2 caregivers. Five children's records, all household member records, and all caregiver records were reviewed. There were no medications on the premises during the inspection. The inspector arrived at the family day home at 8:00 AM and departed at 10:30 AM. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Violations were found during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection and discussed at the conclusion of the inspection. Description: Based on record review and discussion with the Caregiver, the Licensee failed to ensure that Caregiver 1 had current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) appropriate to the age of children in care. The training shall include an in-person competency demonstration.

Evidence:

The LI did not find any documentation of CPR certification for Caregiver 1 and the date of hire was documented as 10/16/2017. When the LI asked the Licensee where the certification was located, they stated that Caregiver 1 did not have the certification.
