Technical Assistance:
We talked about the procedure for reporting more serious injuries when care is sought beyond first aid in the family day home.

Comments:
Thank you for your assistance during the unannounced monitoring inspection conducted from 9:10 AM to 11:50 AM. Today, there were eight children, ages two through five years (fourteen points) with one to two caregivers. I viewed program activities, staffing, supervision, interactions with children, daily routines, equipment, posted information, menu, nutrition, emergency supplies and drill records, injury record, illness practices, two records for caregiver/residents, caregiver training, five records for children, diapering equipment, indoor and outdoor areas. The children had discussions about books they chose for story time. The provider has planned a variety of learning experiences. Today, they were taste testing water with added fruit and cucumber to talk about the advantages of drinking water. They have been learning the alphabet and had a gluing activity. There were opportunities for indoor music and movement during this unusually cold day. A large selection of toys and equipment have remained accessible to children.

Let me know if you have any questions. 540/430-9259.
