Comments:
An unannounced monitoringl inspection was conducted today from 9:38am-11:15am. There were 10 children (33 points) supervised by 3 direct care staff. The home, 3 staff records, 5 children?s records, 3 household member?s records, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. There were no medications on site today. Children were observed working with puzzles, playing with gears, engaging freely, and napping. There was a sufficient amount of books, toys, and materials, which were found to be developmentally appropriate for the children in care at the time of inspection. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-750-B
Description: Based on observation, the provider did not ensure that all topical skin products were inaccessible to children.

Evidence: A plastic container containing children's diaper creams was sitting on top of the diaper changing table.

Plan of Correction: Corrected during inspection.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-320-B
Description: Based on observation, the provider did not ensure that child-resistant protective covers were installed on all unused electrical outlets accessible to children under five years of age.

Evidence: One electrical outlet that was near the bottom of the wall in the kitchen area did not have an outlet cover, and was accessible to children between the ages of 4 months-23 months.

Plan of Correction: Corrected during inspection.
