Technical Assistance:
Recommended changing the nail for a door handle on the electric box cabinet in the crib room and put a lock on the gas meter door in the crib room.
Provided staff record form, reference form and orientation form.

Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today between the hours of 9:00 am through 10:15. There were a total of 6 children (15 points) observed with 2 caregivers. A total of 3 children's files and 3 staff/household member's files were reviewed. The children were engaged in the following: toy play, Christmas tree painting and art decorations,bathroom breaks, and hand washing. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the violation notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-700-C
Description: Based on a review of children medications, the parent has not been notified that the medication needs to be picked up when the authorization to administer expires.
Evidence: Child #1 long term medication authorization expired on 10/8/2019.

Plan of Correction: I will contact the parent today for a new medication authorization form.
