Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today, December 10, 2019 to determine the provider's compliance with family day home licensing standards. The inspection was initiated at 9:30 am and concluded at 11:30 am. Upon the inspector's arrival, five children were in care with one provider for a total of 14 points. The provider and children were observed playing with toys. Children later worked puzzles, listened to a story and made music with shakers while singing jingle bells with the inspector. Children also made hand print Charlie Brown Christmas trees. Hand washing was conducted after bathroom breaks. The provider interacted in a positive and nurturing manner with children in care. Nap time was also observed for the infant. The provider had the following posted: license, menu, emergency phone numbers, last inspection notice, attendance sheets, daily schedule, evacuation procedures/map and additional parent information. The first aid kit and non-medical emergency supplies were checked and found complete. All areas used for child care were inspected along with a walk through of the home. The pool and hot tub were inspected and found locked. The inspector interacted with caregiver and children in care.

An evacuation drill was documented on 11/21/2019 and the two required shelter-in-place drills were completed on 05/28/2019 and 11/22/2019.
Five children's records and the provider's record were reviewed along with the records for two household members.
Currently no medications are being administered. The caregiver has current MAT, CPR & First aid certification.
A complete renewal application has been received by the department and a subsequent license will be recommended.
If you have questions regarding this inspection, please contact the licensing inspector at 804-662-9758.
