A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on 12/10/19 from 4:00pm until 5:10pm to review supplemental health and safety requirements. At the time of entrance there were 5 children in care, ages 8 years to 12 years, for a total of 4 points, with the provider and 1 assistant. A sample of 5 children's records and 2 provider/assistant records were reviewed. Children were observed eating snack, completing homework, reading and drawing. Parent pick-up procedures were also observed. First aid and emergency supplies, the emergency preparedness plan, documentation of emergency practice drills and required family day home postings were reviewed. The provider does not currently administer any medication to children in care. A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. No violations of the supplemental subsidy health and safety requirements were found.
