Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 2:10pm to 4:00pm with the provider and one assistant. There were 10 children in care, ranging from 11 months to five years of age, for a total of 27 points. Children were observed waking from nap, preparing for snack and washing hands, eating snack, and having free play. Five children?s records, the provider's record, and one assistant's records were reviewed and were in compliance. The provider and assistant have current certification in CPR and First Aid. The provider does not administer medication and she understands that she must have Medication Administration Training (MAT) in order to do so. The emergency drill log, attendance, and menu were also reviewed and were in compliance. The most recent documented evacuation drill was dated 11/20/19 and the most recent documented shelter-in-place drill was dated 9/5/19. If you have questions regarding this inspection, please contact the Licensing Inspector, Laura Brindle, at laura.brindle@dss.virginia.gov or 540-905-2062.
