Technical Assistance:
Technical assistance today included required postings, plans for accepting infants (multi-age group needs) and record keeping.

Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today from 9:30 - 12:15 pm. There were 6 children present with the provider and assistant for 13 points. I observed as one child read to the others, colored with stencils, played dramatic play of taking care of a sick baby and a special kitchen time where the provider and assistant brought out all kinds of meal -related props.

Description: Based on observation during today's inspection, there were some areas outdoors and indoors that were not maintained in a safe, working condition.

There were two plant holders with standing water, and a leaf blower in a box on top of the children's water table outdoors.
Indoors: There was splintering wood and peeling paint along the frame of the door next to the cubbies, and chipping paint above a crib,

Plan of Correction: My husband has been painting upstairs and will make the repairs as soon as possible. The children have not been outdoors much since the weather has been wet, but we will make sure the areas are safe.

Description: Based on a review of records today, a family member in the home is now 18 years old and did not have results of a fingerprint search as required.search

Plan of Correction: She has an appointment at 3 pm today. I tried to make an appointment in December but there was a problem with the number of the family day center and I was on the phone trying to convince the Fieldprint respresentative that I needed this. There was a problem with the number from the previous appointment when my assistant and I went for the fingerprint but it has been fixed and I will send you the results as soon as they arrive.
