Pillows when used shall be assigned for individual use and covered with pillowcases. Fall zones are to be maintained free of obstacles around climbing equipment and equipment with moving parts on the playground. Please ensure staff records clearly state start date of employment. The diapering area shall be provided with a nonabsorbent surface for diapering or changing.

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on October 24, 2012. There were 94 children present at arrival to the center with twelve staff members. Additional staff were on site for administrative and support purposes. The children were observed napping and playing freely in the classrooms. Licensing inspector reviewed supervision, activities, equipment, napping procedures, diapering and hand washing procedures, medication, children and staff records, emergency evacuation and shelter-in-place drill documentation, emergency supplies and required postings.

Evidence: During the inspection conducted on October 24, 2012, the licensing inspector observed hand sanitizer in four out of eight classrooms that were labeled "warning... keep out of reach of children". Standard #: 22VAC15-30-440-E-1 Description: Based on observation and inspection of the facility, the licensee failed to ensure that proper staff to children ratios were followed in two out of eight classrooms. Evidence: 1. During the inspection conducted on October 24, 2012, the licensing inspector observed that the center did not meet the required staff-to-children ratio (one staff member to every four infants) in the 5-11month old room. There were two staff present with 11 children in care. 2. On the same date, the licensing inspector observed that there was one staff present with 12 napping children in the 12-18 month old room.
