An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 9:30 am until 12:35 pm. There were 12 children (29 points) with 3 caregivers. The children were observed hand washing, playing with puzzles, reading books, playing outside and eating lunch. Lunch consisted of Macaroni and cheese, carrots and peas, Interactions between caregivers and children were positive. fruit and milk. The physical plant, attendance logs, evacuation logs, emergency plans, children's records, caregiver records, household member records, pet records and emergency supplies were inspected. There were no medications on site. Areas of non compliance were cited on the Violation Notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-830-A Description: Based on review of evacuation logs, the provider failed to ensure that emergency evacuation procedures shall be practiced monthly with all caregivers and children in care during all shifts that children are in care.
The provider did not have documentation of evacuation drills for May 2019 or November 2019.
Plan of Correction: I will conduct fire drills monthly and 2 shelter in place drills per year.
