An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today from 10:15am-1:00pm. There were 10 children (34 points) supervised by 3 direct care staff. The home, 3 staff records, 5 children?s records, 3 household member?s records, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. There were no medications on site today. Children were observed playing with Legos and engaging freely. Bottle feeding procedures were also observed. There was a sufficient amount of books, toys, and materials, which were found to be developmentally appropriate for the children in care at the time of inspection. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice.

Evidence: Child #1's (age: 2 years old) record did not contain documentation of the father's work telephone number, and the child's medical insurance information.Plan of Correction: I will get the missing information from the parents today.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-240-A Description: Based on observation, the provider did not ensure that areas and furnishings of the family day home were maintained in a clean, safe, and operable condition.
Evidence: A child safety lock on the diaper changing was broken.Plan of Correction: I will replace the broken lock.
Standard #: 22VAC40-80-120-E-2 Description: Based on observation, the provider did not ensure that the findings of the most recent inspection of the facility were posted.
Evidence: The violation notice that was posted in the family day home was dated 1/29/2019. The most recent inspection was conducted on 8/7/2019.Plan of Correction: I will post today.
