Provided resources for annual staff training

Comments:
An unannounced Renewal inspection was conducted this date. A total of 8 children (25pts) with Provider and 1 Assistant. When the Inspector arrived, the children were observed finishing morning snack and interacting with a music sing along video. Staff were encouraging dancing and singing with the children. Walk through of the home was conducted and outside back yard area. Four full size cribs on site and compliant. Hand washing and diapering procedures observed. Preparation for lunch was observed. Lunch today green beans, rice and tomato with milk to drink. Completed projects were on display for parents for pick up. Some activities completed were numbers and and the Letter "D". No medication onsite today. Topical ointments on site and out of reach of children. The home was equipped with age appropriate toys within reach of the children to encourage independence and self selection. The previous violation found during the October inspection was reviewed and corrective action was verified. This inspection began at approximately 10:15am and ended at 12:20pm. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-780-B
Description: Based on child record review, annual review of emergency contacts was not completed.
Evidence: Child # 1,2,3,4 and 5's emergency contacts were not reviewed annually with a parent.

Plan of Correction: We will review these with the parents today.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-210-A
Description: Based on staff record review, annual staff training was not obtained.
Evidence: Staff #1 and #2 received only 8 out of the required 16 hours of annual training.

Plan of Correction: We will enroll this week and complete the online 10 hour and 3 hour training this year and one other 3 hour training to total 16 hours.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-690-D
Description: Based on observation of the diapering procedures, the diapering surface was not sanitized.
Evidence: After each diaper change, staff was observed washing the diapering surface with a spray bottle of disinfectant but did not sanitize the surface after washing with a bleach and water solvent.

Plan of Correction: The bleach spray bottle was in the cabinet. We will ensure that the surface will be washed and bleached after each diaper change.
