- Technical Assistance:
A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on January 6, 2020 from approximately 11:10 AM to 3:55 PM to review supplemental health and safety requirements. In attendance were 10 children, totaling 29 points, being supervised by one caregiver until approximately 2:20 PM. 10 children, totaling 29 points were supervised by two caregivers after approximately 2:20 PM. The children were observed watching a movie, having lunch, be diapered, using the restroom, being fed, resting, and having free play during the inspection. Lunch today consisted of corn dogs, french fries, and milk. Children's books, toys, and equipment were inspected. The children's restroom was inspected. The family day home's required postings were inspected. The first aid kit and emergency supplies were inspected with the required items found. The emergency preparedness plan was reviewed. There is no medication being administered at this time. Five children's records and two caregiver records were inspected. The following was also inspected: emergency drill logs, parent agreements, and other pertinent information. A licensing inspection was also conducted this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Violations were found during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection and are identified on the violation notice.
Please complete the "plan of correction" and "date to be corrected" for each violation cited on the violation notice and return it to the licensing office within 5 business days. Your plan of correction should contain 1) steps to correct the non-compliance with the standard(s), 2) measures to prevent the noncompliance from occurring again; and 3) person(s) responsible for implementing each step and/or monitoring any preventive measure(s). Standard #: 22VAC40-665-400-B-5 Description: Based on a review of documentation and interview, the provider did not ensure that the emergency preparedness plan shall contain procedural components for lockdown procedures. Evidence: 1. The licensing inspector observed the emergency preparedness plan did not include the components for lockdown procedures. 2. Caregiver #1 reported the emergency preparedness plan did not include lockdown procedures. Plan of Correction: Per provider: "I will make sure that I add the components for lock down procedures."
