Comments:
The licensing inspector conducted an unannounced monitoring inspection on 1/22/2019 from 11:00am to 1:50pm. The children were sleeping upon the inspector?s arrival. Today, there were two children, totaling 4 points, present with one caregiver. The caregiver was observed interacting with the children. Interviews were held with the caregiver throughout the inspection. Additionally, when appropriate the inspector interacted with children. The menu was posted.

The provider does not administer medication at this time.
The provider does not provide transportation.
The provider has pets.

Five children?s records, one caregiver record, and one household member's record was reviewed during the inspection.

The violations from the previous inspections were checked for corrections. There was one repeat violation found during today?s inspection.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-270-A
Description: Based on observation, the provider did not ensure firearms of every type and purpose shall be stored unloaded in a locked container, compartment, or cabinet, and apart from ammunition.
Evidence:
The provider had five firearms located in an unlocked cabinet.

Plan of Correction: I immediately locked the cabinet. The cabinet is always locked. The latch did not catch and it has been fixed and locked. The firearms were not loaded and ammunition was locked separately.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-320-B
Description: Based on observation, the provider did not ensure that child resistant protective covers larger than 1-1/4 inches in diameter were installed on all unused electrical outlets accessible to children under five years of age.
Evidence:
1. The provider had one uncovered electrical outlet in the main room.
2. The provider had two uncovered outlets on the back porch.

Plan of Correction: 1. Corrected during the inspection.
2. There is not any power going to that cord.
