Discussed with the provider ways to document the attendance for the children as they come and go for public school.
An unannounced Subsidy Health and Safety Inspection (SHSI) was conducted today from 8:45am to 11:30am in conjunction with a renewal inspection (see that inspection report for details). The two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Two staff records were reviewed for documentation of the mandatory Virginia Preservice Training and current certification in First Aid and CPR and were in compliance. There are no children currently enrolled with diagnosed food allergies. The last lockdown drill was documented on 1/14/20. If you have questions regarding this inspection, please contact the Licensing Inspector, Laura Brindle, at firstname.lastname@example.org or 540-905-2062.
Standard #: 22VAC40-665-160-B Description: Based on review of documentation, the vendor did not maintain a written hard copy record of daily attendance that documents the arrival and departure of each child in care as it occurs. Evidence: 1. The daily attendance had documentation of 10 children in care, but there were only four children during the inspection. 2. The provider stated that six children had been in attendance in the morning and had left for public school. Plan of Correction: I normally make a note once the children leave. I will make sure to do that moving forward.
A compliance history is in no way a rating for a facility.
The online compliance history includes only information after July 1, 2003. In addition, the online compliance history includes information regarding adverse actions that may be the subject of a pending appeal. An adverse action is not final until a provider has exhausted or waived all due process rights. For compliance history prior to July 1, 2003, or information regarding the status of pending adverse actions, please contact the Licensing Inspector listed in the facility's information. The Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS) is not responsible for any errors in or omissions from the compliance history information.Virginia Quality is a voluntary quality rating and improvement system for early care and education facilities serving children ages birth through pre-K. Eligible child care facilities must be fully licensed, licensed exempt and a VDSS subsidy vendor, or a voluntary registered day home and a VDSS subsidy vendor. Only programs enrolled in Virginia Quality will display a rating. Virginia Quality contact information for your region is available at the following link Regional Contacts.
