Discussion was held on the topics of current enrollment, current staffing, and linens. An additional discussion was held on capacity. The Provider wanted to know if a Provider could have 13 children. The Provider could only have 13 children if one of those children were a resident of the home. Then there would be 12 children in care, plus one resident child. A FDH licensing (one approved by zoning) can not ever exceed a capacity of 12. It should also be mention that regardless of capacity, the staffing for the children in care should always reflect the appropriate point total.

The following inspection took place between the hours of 11 am through 1:30 pm. Today, I met with the Provider on site at the Family Day Home (FDH) located in Chantilly, Virginia. At the start of this unannounced renewal inspection there were a total of 10 children observed (25 points) with 2 caregivers. A total of 10 children?s files, 3 staff files, and 3 household member?s files were reviewed. The children were engaged in the following: center activities, music, toy play, infant feeding, infant sleeping, lunch, bathroom breaks, diapering, hand washing, nap time, and other organized activities. If you should have any future questions, please call or send an e-mail to charles.perkins@dss.virginia.gov. Thank you.
