- Technical Assistance:
Technical assistance today included staff records, clarification of allergies, parents' medication policy with current policy.
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today fro 10:20 am - 12:45 pm. There were 11 children present with the provider and three assistants for 35 points. I observed children eating snack, involved in dramatic play, singing and playing with toys. Outdoor areas were not inspected due to weather. No children's medication was on-site. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-60-B Description: Based on a review of children's records today, one child's record didn't have all required information.
Child # 1 did not have two different phone numbers listed for emergency contacts as required.
Plan of Correction: I will talk to the parent today.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-320-G Description: Based on a review of records today, there was no current inspection of the fireplace. (upstairs)
A lock was placed on the exterior of the fireplace, but this does not meet the requirements.
Plan of Correction: I will call in an inspector.
Standard #: 63.2-1721.1-B-3 Description: Based on a review of records today, there were no current results of Search of the Child Registry for a two staffmembers. .
Staff #3 had a copy of a Virginia Search of the Registry on which was written: ""mailed 9/25/19" but there is no documentation of following up after thirty days as required when no results have been obtained.
Staff # 3 indicated she had resided in another state in the past five years, but there was no documentation of obtaining a Central Registry Search for that state.
The provider's Virginia Search of the Central Registry results were over five years olds (dated 03/20/2013).
Plan of Correction: I will check on the Virginia CPS background check and send the Registry Check to California, and update my Virginia Registry Check.
