Technical Assistance:
The provider was reminded that children under two years of age cannot sleep with pillows on their cots.

Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today between 12:10pm and 1:30pm. There were 5 children present with the Provider and 1 assistant for a total of points 11 within the supervision guidelines. The children were observed celebrating a birthday by eating cupcakes, washing hands and napping. A complete inspection of the physical plant, children and staff records, fire drill log, menu, attendance and emergency procedures were observed during this inspection. There is an ample amount of toys and supplies available to the children. The family day home is clean and well organized. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-60-B
Description: Based on record review, child records did not contain all required information.
Evidence: Child #1, Child #3 and Child #4 files did not contain documentation of an annual review of the child's emergency contact information.

Plan of Correction: I'll have the parents update the files today.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-140-B-3
Description: Based on record review and interview, the provider does not have current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training.
Evidence: The providers CPR training expired 11/2019. The provider stated that she has started the online training to renew the training but has not completed it yet.

Plan of Correction: I'll finish the online training do complete the in-person exam.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-140-B-4
Description: Based on record review and interview, the provider does not have current certification in first aid training.
Evidence: The providers first aid training expired 11/2019. The provider stated that she has started the online training to renew the training but has not completed it yet.
