Comments:

Unannounced monitoring inspection conducted this date. A total of 4 children (9pts) with Provider present. When the Inspector arrived this morning, the children were individually reading books and then one child read a Dr.Seuss book to the other children. Provider encouraged the child to sound out words while reading. The children transitioned from book time to individual activities such as number peg boards where they had select the number of pegs to match the number on the board. Positive encouragement was observed from the Provider. Hand washing before lunch was observed. The Provider sat with the children, encouraged eating and assisted with their utensils. Lunch today was chicken and rice, steamed carrots and grapes with milk and water to drink. Previous violation reviewed from the last inspection, corrective actions verified. No medications or topical ointments on site. All children's records, provider and all household records were reviewed. Thank you for your cooperation today. Description:	Based on staff record review, the Provider did not obtain the required annual training. Evidence: The Provider obtained only 3 out of the required 16 hours of annual training.
Plan of Correction:	I will enroll in the online 10 hour Preservice course and will complete an additional 3 hours of training by August.
Standard #:	22VAC40-80-120-E-2
Description:	Based on observation of the home, the findings of the most recent inspection not found. Evidence: The Inspection Summary was posted on the provider's information board but the violation notice from the August licensing inspection was not found.
