Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-240-A
Description: Based on observation, the provider did not ensure all areas and furnishing of the family day home, inside and outside, were maintained in a clean, safe and operable condition.

Evidence:

The light switch next to the rear door did not have a plate cover installed, exposing the interior wires posing a shock hazard.

Plan of Correction: Per the provider: I have a switch plate that i can install today.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-280
Description: Based on observation and interview, the provider did not ensure potentially poisonous substances, materials and supplies such as, but not limited to, cleaning agents, disinfectants, deodorizers, plant care chemicals, pesticides, and petroleum distillates were stored away from food in areas inaccessible to children.

Evidence:

1. Cleaning materials were observed being stored under the kitchen sink. One cabinet door did not have a locking mechanism installed making the cleaning materials accessible to children in care.
2. The kitchen is used for child care.

Plan of Correction: Per the provider: I will purchase a child safety lock for the cabinet door today.
