Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today from 10:30am to 12:00pm with the provider. There were six children in care, ranging from six months to three years of age, for a total of 16 points. Children were observed watching a movie in their pajamas for Pajama Day. Six children?s records, the provider's record, and two household members? records were reviewed and were in compliance. The provider has current certification in CPR and First Aid. The provider reported that she is not administering medication at this time and is aware she must obtain re-certification in Medication Administration Training (MAT) in order to do so. Lunch today will be pizza, peas, oranges, and milk. The first aid kit, flashlight, weather band radio, and fire extinguisher were observed and were in compliance. The emergency drill log and menu were also reviewed and were in compliance. The most recent fire drill and shelter-in-place drill were documented 2/14/20. If you have questions regarding this inspection, please contact the Licensing Inspector, Laura Brindle, at laura.brindle@dss.virginia.gov or 540-905-2062.
