Comments:
Thank you for your time and assistance with the unannounced renewal inspection conducted on February 27, 2020. The on-site inspection was from 10:33 a.m. to 1 p.m. On this date, there were two children (six points), ages ten months through two, in the care of the provider during the visit, but two additional after school children expected later, for a total of eight points. The total enrollment for the program was five children. The exception to compliance was noted on the violation notice and the risk rating was noted on the supplemental page. The records of the provider, two household members and five children?s records were reviewed. No medication is being administered at this time. All interactions between children and staff were age appropriate and positive. Some items that were reviewed and observed included: required posted information, documentation of evacuation, shelter-in-place, and lockdown drills, emergency supplies, first aid kit, warm water temperature, updated emergency preparedness plan, chimney inspection, infant care, story time, singing, hand washing and bathroom procedures, transitions, lunch, and nap time.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-340-C
Description: Based on observation, the provider did not ensure the bathroom contained paper towels.

Evidence: 1. While there was a paper towel dispenser affixed to the wall, the container was empty. A bath towel was present for hand drying. 2. Provider confirmed there were no paper towels present in bathroom.

Plan of Correction: Paper towels had been ordered online and expected by the end of the week. In the future, will order early enough to receive prior to running out.
