Technical Assistance:
Upon first arrival there was no answer at the door provider stated she went to the store. Provider was informed when children are present, assistants must still open the door. She explained that its hard to be heard from where care is provided and patrons don't usually use that entrance.

Comments:
An unannounced monitoring/renewal inspection was conducted today at approximately 10:30am. There were 3 children (8) directly supervised by 2 staff. The home, 2 staff records, 3 children?s records, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Per Provider there were no medications on site today. Children were observed playing freely. There was an adequate supply of books, toys, and materials for the children. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-320-B
Description: Based on observation in was determined that Child-resistant protective covers larger than 1-1/4 inches in diameter were not installed on all unused electrical outlets and surge protectors accessible to children under five years of age.

Evidence: During inspection an unused outlet in the room where care is provided was uncovered.

Plan of Correction: During inspection the proper cover was installed.
